Freedom Has Lost Its Spark

Freedom no longer moves us.
It doesn’t light up hearts,
nor fill the streets with voices,
nor inspire new dreams.

Because very few have ever truly known it.
They never had the chance —
not the right moment, not the courage.
All they’ve been offered is a watered-down version:
controlled, polished, and neatly packaged as democracy.

They confuse freedom with permission.
“You can choose — but only between options someone else picked.”
“You can speak — just don’t make noise.”
“You can protest — but keep it quiet.”
“You can live — as long as it fits inside a system that’s already planned your life.”

This isn’t freedom.
It’s a comfortable cage —
soft cushions, soundproof windows, and invisible bars.

True freedom demands more.
Responsibility.
Courage.
Real community — not social media facades.
Shared decisions — not distant representatives.
People fully alive — not obedient shadows.

But what happens when everyone prefers the safety of fear?
When the chains are unseen, and those who wear them defend their links?

Freedom loses its power.
Because freedom means uncertainty, risk, and chaos.
And today’s world chooses predictable slavery over uncertain flight.

Is there anyone left to talk about freedom?
Maybe one.
And if that one feels the flame burning inside —
then all hope isn’t lost.
